Rockin' for a Match began in March 2011, when I (Taylor Kanas) was searching for a bone marrow match. The show consisted of 13 bands, locally and nationally, with Taproot headlining. It took place at The Emerald Theatre in Mt. Clemens and with only under a month to plan it, we had an amazing turn out. The manager, Maria Wade, along with the coordinator, Mary Loveless, and all the awesome volunteers made the event a complete success! I am planning on continuing Rockin' for a Match as an annual event to help raise awareness for bone marrow donor needs and to help raise funds to pay for the costs. Next year's event will be in June 2012 at a venue TBD. Be The Match will be there for the bone marrow drive with donor kits. With just a swab of the cheek, you can save a life! If you are already a donor participant, tell your friends, and come enjoy some great live music. Venue, bands, and date will be released asap!
